When Men Cry

A recent publication ” When Men Cry”,  contains some interesting information about violence against men.

Global studies of domestic violence (DV) estimate that domestic violence affects 25% to 35% of men during their lifetime (Kigaya, 2021). Globally, at least one in six men has experienced some form of gender-based abuse in their lifetime (Nicholls & Dutton, 2001). Another survey indicates that 10% to 15% of men have experienced some form of gender-based physical abuse by an intimate partner in their lifetime (Kessler et al., 2001). Initial results from a WHO multi-country study on men’s health and domestic violence show that in some parts of the world, 20% of men have experienced domestic violence (Garcia-Moreno et al., 2005). Kumar et al. (2015) confirmed that 25% to 30% of all violence arising from intimate partners relates exclusively to violence by women against men.
