Hello there,

In our day to day operations we see up to 50 people through our service, accessing support for mental health and childhood trauma, as well as some just needing a shower and some breakfast and conversation.

If you would like to make a donation to support us, no matter how big or small it’s always appreciated. With any donations received we ensure every dollar goes directly to the people we support in our community. This would include helping to supply a hot breakfast, coffees, toiletries or a pair of socks to keep someone warm.

If you wish to do so the details are

Male Room 2021 Trust

Thank you from the Male Room team.

SAFE PLACE, HOUSING FIRST

Whare Haumaru

As part of the Male Room services, the newly established Whare Haumaru (Safe Place) is a drop in centre for the homeless community of Nelson, as well as anyone else wishing to use the facility. Open from 8am till 4pm Monday to Friday we have a shower, washing machine, drier and a full kitchen that can be used. The kitchen can be used for free breakfasts when available. We also receive Kai Rescue (food that’s available to take home) which is available from 11am each day which is open to anyone in need of some extra food to help them through.) Anyone is always welcome to come in for a coffee or cup of tea and a chat.

A big thank you goes out to the Rotary Club of Nelson for their help in getting this whare built.

Our onsite manager is there who can help with Housing First referrals and linking in with our other Male Room services.
